Where to eat

You can't come to Guardiagrele without trying one of the famous desserts, gelatos and pastries from Patabom, at Via Roma, 72. You might want to start off with appetizers in the cellar made out of a natural cave at La Grotta dei Rasellior try one of the fabulous pizzas at La Rondine Pizza 2.0.

For something special in Abruzzese local cuisine try the Albergo Ristorante in Bocca di Valle. For more than 50 years their kitchen has been bringing to the table the dishes of Abruzzo gastronomy: cured meats, fresh and seasoned cheeses, egg pasta, sauces made by local products. Seasonal specialities are offered.

Some of our personal favorites:

Caff & Mercato - Guardiagrele centro storico, beautiful views, friendly service, coffee, pastries, menu. Caff & Mercato

La Vineria di Salnitro - Via Circonvallazione Est 2/3, 66010, San Martino Sulla Marrucina - quirky, full-service restaurant only 4 km from the house. Lovely location and beautiful food. About 35 euros per person for a set menu. Always a treat! No website - look them up on Facebook or check with us.

Taverna58 - Taverna58. Typical Abruzzo cuisine, good service, Arts and Crafts room and a wine cellar located at Corso Manthone, 46, Pescara.

Masciarelli Winery and wine tours - also in San Martino sulla Marrucina. The winery includes vineyards and olive groves in all 4 provinces of Abruzzo. They have 18 labels and 5 product lines. They also own the beautiful Castello di Semivicoli, a 17th Century baronial mansion. Masciarelli Winery

Always a good idea to call or write for reservations first.
